I'm Awesome
I need to climb around under my 97 at some point and insulate the rest of that rear hose. I only insulated it to where it routes above the frame last summer, it was over 100F at 2:00 AM at the time, not fun weather to do work in laying on your back on concrete. Going to be a challenge there because the hose sits between the frame and body. That being said I feel like insulating it will a make a difference because the rear suction hose goes all the way to the rear bumper, wraps around the frame then goes into the body to the rear evaporator all the way in the rear of the driverside of the van. That suction hose alone is probably 20 ft long and it does get cold enough to make the split loom sweat its whole length on a humid day. That has to be pulling in a fair amount of heat that insulating it will help prevent.I let it run in the parking lot while I was in the gym for about 45 minutes. I came back to it and it was still cooling well. It was a little cooler today at 95 degrees instead of 100, and not as much sun. However, I do believe the insulation has made a difference.
I haven’t modified the clutch thermal spring yet, I will hopefully this week.
