Bag it with the service bed. If you plan on using big wheels you can call lowboy Motorsports. They use flat face inners and make faux 10 lug. Basically you get the 10 lug semi look but the regular 8 lug bolt pattern is hiding behind the center cap, no adapters either.

I agree that’s probably a regular frame, that bed sits low. C&C frame kicks up and is very straight allowing the outfitter to install universal beds.
That’s cool, I’ll have to look into lowboy! I was going to commit with finding 10 lug hubs. This will save headache.

Welcome,

Definitely a cab and chassis truck - meaning GM sold it without a bed, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a C&C frame (more on that in a moment.) The 3rd digit of your VIN (B) indicates an "incomplete vehicle" which goes to a dealer without a bed, and then sold through an upfitter to the eventual customer after the upfitter equips it with what the customer wants - flatbed, utility, wrecker, box, etc.

On to the frame - I don't have much experience with C&C 2500's but I CAN tell you that some of the aforementioned bed options are made both ways - for regular pickup frames, and for the very different C&C frames which are more of a universal design across manufacturers (at least the Big 3) - and the one dead giveaway is your wheelbase. 131.5" tells me it is most likely are regular pickup frame, as that's the wheelbase for a regular cab longbed GMT400 pickup. A comparable C&C frame would be 135.5" because that extra 4" is part of the C&C standard (a regular cab longbed also referred to as a 60" cab-to-axle measurement) as well as the frame rails being ladder-straight, 34" centers, all the way back after the kick-up behind the cab. A normal pickup frame is tapered inwards as it goes back and is considerably wider than 34".

So get a look underneath at your frame. My bet is it's a regular pickup frame and you would order parts/kits accordingly for a regular cab longbed C2500. A dually bed bolts right up, no mounts to be made. A regular dually rear end bolts up (C&C are 8" narrower and some guys use them if they're planning on bagging and tucking BIG wheels like milled semi's- in that case you'll have more work ahead of you.)

That’s the goal; bagged on Alcoa type wheels. Very interesting.
Thank you for all of that useful information! You guys have given more info in less than 24 hrs. than I have gotten in the month or so, since I’ve had it! Thank you again!

Hey everybody, I picked up everything Sunday, literally.
(Bed, Rear axle and wheels, leaf springs, air bags *used for hauling not slamming* and a few other things. All off the same truck)
Question: Seller mentioned it’s possibly an old railroad truck bed(?)
It was a on a cab-less 1998 Chevrolet 3500, Crew cab, Long bed frame.
It has a sticker/placard on the outside front of the bed too. Anyway.
I measured the bed and it appears to be longer than the Service bed, which is exactly 8’ front to back. (See beginning of thread for pictures) I’m aware the service body is boxy and measures exactly and it has a bumper that sticks out, which could make some difference but second guessing my measurements.
I took the ‘whatever, I’ll figure it out’ route because of the deal I got.
So, my 1999 C2500 CC RCLB (Converting, obviously) .. what can I do to make up this difference and make it work? Pics attached.
-Thank you

That's just a regular dually bed, nothing special about it possibly having been a railroad service truck. *** edit - though I will add, it looks a little weird in the wheel opening? Like they just tacked dually fenders on a regular non-dually longbed. Also those marker lights aren't OEM. I'll have to ponder that wheel opening setup a little bit.. and go look at mine in a few.

Hopefully the people that put the utility box on yours didn't cut the end of the frame for clearance.

I'd also be looking at the rear bed floor and area around the taillights and gate mounting. Looks a little bit scrunched to me... like it backed into something or got hit in back. Front edge of taillights should be straight up and down, 90° to bed floor.
