I don’t know where this is supposed to be plugged in but I thought it might be related to my a/c compressor or the engine coolant temperature sensor
Please help.

Model year and engine please.

Evidently it's 1995 or earlier.

I'm wondering if it's supposed to go to a high-pressure cutout switch on the back of the AC compressor. I see the compressor's been replaced... if the cutout switch wasn't (re)installed, that connector would lie fallow. But, then other problems might occur.

Hmm...

Did you look under the air cleaner cover? Is there an emissions-related valve residing under there, perhaps bolted to the intake manifold, to which this connector belongs?

Get the factory service manual for your year and look it up:

It’s a 93 V6, 4.3L. I would bet you are right. I vacuumed my a/c lines and when I tried putting Freon in, it makes the compressor stop and click a few times then try and run again

Check out the factory manual and see what you can find.

Meanwhile, someone else may know off the top of their head.
