I am sure somewhere some has posted or asked about this if so please tag a link for it.

Idling okay. But driving down road will go okay for a sec till you get to 1/4 throttle and then if like there is 10klbs behind it and just has no power at all and kinda revs up a lil bit and wants to go for a second and then goes right back to nothing. Back throttle off and lower rpm and it kinda starts to pull a lil bit. Almost feels like a stuck brake but they’re not stuck.

Truck is new to me last few I have had I carb swapped but don’t want to do it to this one really. Looking for a possible fix before I put the vortec heads and carb on it to fix the electrical problems.

Welcome to the forum from Oregon.

I am really confused. How does vortec heads and carb fix an electrical problem?

What is the fuel pressure? At start up? At idle? Throttle in neutral? Throttle in gear. Possible clogged catalytic converter. What do the plugs look like?

Check your fuel filter, catatytic convertor and the state of tune up.
Unless it looks like it has new cap, rotor, plugs and wires on it do those, always the first parts I replace when buying a used vehicle.

Swap it all out for a carb setup and take away the ecm for the motor. Take the excite wire for fuel pump straight to the ignition switch

I just dealt with your type of issue with my truck, which is a 350 five speed. It was throwing a code for "lean limit reached" from time to time in conjunction with having no power and surging while cruising at a steady speed in 3rd or 4th gear. The O2 sensor was no good. Replaced it and it's been back to normal.

So, are you gonna just replace an O2 sensor and not check the fuel pressure?
