I just picked up a 1997 Suburban 2WD 5.7. The previous owner removed the entire factory exhaust system and replaced it with a custom dual exhaust system. When doing so he removed the cats and and the O2 sensors. Is the a way to fool the system and make it think the O2 sensors are still there. I tried the search option and didn't come up with anything

Are the up stream sensors there? Hope so, gonna run like crap if not. The rears are simple. You can tune them out, or put spark plug non-foulers in. I did this to a Tahoe i had, light never came back on.....

Nope, no upstream or down stream , he removed the entire factory exhaust and replaced it with custom made pipes.

You'll want to add the upstream ones back in. There were 2 to begin with, no reason they couldn't have been retained when the exhaust was changed, other than previous owner/shop being lazy. Shop can weld in some O2 sensor bungs to the new pipes.

I may not be explaining it properly. They removed the entire exhaust from the manifolds down and made new pipes. Personally. I'd rather have the factory system but this is how I got it. There are no cats. There are straight pipes coming down from the exhaust manifolds that run back mufflers up over the axle and the exhaust pipes exit out the side behind the rear tires. Not sure why they chose to do that but that's what they did without the cats. Would it do any good welding bungs in and putting the O2 sensors back in?

I get what your saying. Not a very good shop if they didn't weld O2 bungs in. Those clamps I posted will allow you to use your existing pipes. The up stream ones are most important. Down streams just check the efficiency of the cats.

Won't matter. If dont' want to put cats on it, then need to tune them out, deal with the light being on, or weld bungs in and use those non-foulers.....
