I seem to have a few problems at and I'm sure some are going to suggest to change the brake switch. I'm in the final stages of an LS swap( I hope) on an 89' Short bed single cab. I connected the battery and noticed the tail lights were stuck on. My first thought was brake switch. I pulled the rear harness connector for now, just to not kill the battery. I have the starter wired through the PCM turn the key and nothing. I get out my test light and found the large pink wire I'm using the power the PCM is shorted, Illuminates from Positive to Positive. I disconnected the main harness from the fuse panel and found 4 pins the light up when connecting pos to pos. I disconnected all of the underdash connectors and pulled all the fuses from the panel.
The CTSY PARK and STOP all show shorted when I measure pin to pin in the fuse box. Ok I though well theres you short. Except theres no damage to the fuse panel, the main harness isn't melted and I still don't know where this short is. There is of course only one set off connectors I couldnt get apart. The connectors at the base of the steering column. I'm guessing I have a short in there. Does anyone know if these circuits run through the column? I suspect they do I tried pulling the steering wheel but the bolts I have on hand are too short. Any thoughts or advice?
