Hey guys! I was curious to see who all has done the summit 8802 cam in the L31 Vortec like whats in my Yukon. It’s what I’ve decided to go with. I’d also like to do springs, ls7 lifters, screw in studs and some new 1.5 roller rockers, possibly 1.6. Anyway I was curious to see if there’s any sound clips floating around on how that summit cam sounds in one of these 350s. I’d be running long tubes and true duals through some straight through magnaflow as well, as well as deleting the cats while I’m at it.

Also would a simple retune of the stock pcm from blackbear be sufficient? That’s who I’m currently tuned by and happy with but I’ve heard about the 0411 swap as well, but boy oh boy there seems to be a lot that goes into that!

SO, looking for some sound clips, and some opinions on tuning and head work. Thanks gang!

I put a similar one, Comp Cams 08-430-8 in my 350 TBI, with aluminum heads, 1.5 Rockers, Comp Cams 986-16 springs. I was able to tune it so it had a fairly smooth idle with quick response. You could tell it had a cam but, didn't lope or anything like that.

It will sound more or less like a LT4 Hotcam.
Yeah there’s just not much on the tube about it. I know it’ll wake the 5.7 up, especially with a good tune; sound was actually the last thing I even thought about lol but like anyone else, I am curious! It’d be cool if it simply sounded better than stock.

All around that's slightly bigger than my Lunati cam. Plenty of torque and it sounds absolutely badass with a good exhaust. I'm running LS2 beehives on Comp Cams 787-16 retainers. You'll need headers. If you're going to put in screw in studs, you might as well do a good cleanup port on the heads while they're off.

Cool man! That’s what I like to hear! Drop a sound clip (or a link if it’s posted somewhere) of how that thing sounds. I’m curious!

No sir, I have not lol. I’ve had a couple other cool things come up I’ve been working to get, but if they don’t work out I’ll be going back to the Yukon project. I’ll be sure to post on the thread when and if I do! I’m still doing homework on it.
