I understand that. But they only put one type of transmission in 1993 and 1994 chevy and gmc pick ups and suburbans. The 4l60e. And they only came with floor shifts for the 4x4 aspect.. I did forget to mention they are autos i admit, but if he didnt know the other things already, what was the point in even responding to my post, also the rest of what he said was very unnecessary and a bit offensive. Especially considering my name says newbie next to it and this is my first forum ever…. But thank you to all.
I'm glad you got it worked out.
@Schurkey was just trying to get the specifics so he didn't give you wrong information. That said, there's still a lot of variabilities in regards to transmissions. For example there's 4l60e, 4l80e, 700r4, NV4500, NV3500, etc... 1994 came with 4 transmission options: 4l60e, 4l80e, nv3500, and nv4500. It helps to be descriptive, for example I personally don't know what year they switched from 700r4 to 4l60e.
Biggest difference for transfer cases: "light duty" automatic transmissions (4l60e) used a 27 spline input shaft on the transfer case, "heavy duty" autos (4l80e) and all manuals use a 32 spline.
There's 3 different transfer cases I know of for these trucks: NP241 - manual floor shift; NP243 - push button 4x4; NP246 - push button 4x4 PLUS automatic 4wd
As long as the spline count is correct any of them should bolt up. However, the electronics are not compatible.
