Hello all,
I am wondering if there was anyone who has added d-rings or any other style tie down anchors on the inside of their bed like the newer body style trucks have? I am slowly starting to restore my truck and I plan on linexing the bed but I'd like to add more tie downs in the corners first. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks

I haven't put any tie downs in the bed floor yet, but have installed eye bolts in the driver's side bed posts, in the factory holes for attaching stakes. My crew cab came to my family with an aftermarket bedliner which I cut holes in to access these eye bolts. I'm also planning on putting tie downs/handles in the front bed wall for better coverage with bungee cords or a cargo net. I hauled a partial load last weekend and had to block it in with my hand truck. My truck also has a freeflow tailgate, so that makes me extremely cautious about tying down/securing loads.

I'd love to add something like these but I'm not sure if I just cut a hole in the sides at the corners of the bed if the metal is strong enough to support the wear and tear of straps pulling on them. I'm guessing linexing would add a little strength but I'd rather not find out the hard way

Suburban floors in the cargo area have folding D rings in the corners that look pretty stout, but they are black oxided instead of being chrome or stainless. Stainless steel is the way to go in my opinion, for any hardware that has to be in the bed. However when I got my eye bolts and hardware, SS would have made it cost 3x as much. So I have the zinc plated stuff; since it's under the edge of the fender/bedside it should be okay.

I like those as well, thanks! I'm sure I'm just overthinking it. I'm not gonna try and hold down a space shuttle, just want enough strength to keep things in place when I need them to.

I have 2 now in the corners near the tailgate and need to add 2 more at the front. They're plenty strong and a nice durable coating on them. They come with a big plate that mounts on the underside so you don't have to cobble together fender washers and stuff

You ever seen how their installed. And they are a casting , zero strength. I have seen many installed on bed rail or a few inches down on the outside. Attached with 4 each , half inch long sheet metal screws. The corse thread type.
did not know that seen them on a few trucks and thout how they work was cool had no idea that they were junk
