Welcome aboard. As evidenced by my screen name I am a mopar muscle car guy. I love em all as long as they arent foreign cars or trucks. I have quite the collection. 3 chevys, 2 fords, and 3 mopars. I buy what I like, and what fits my needs/wants. As different as all these vehicles are, they are still pretty much the same IMHO. That's a clean Yukon for living in the great white north. Road salt ravages these things badly. Good to see you storing it away for the winter. Thank God I live in west Texas where its dry all the time. No rust, but warped, cracked, and dry plastics abound here. Aaah I guess I traded having rust free sheetmetal for that lol.
I love the GMT400s. Easy to work on, timeless good looking styling. The only ones I stay away from are the spider injection setups with the plastic tubing. With high miles, they seem to be more trouble than they are worth. IMHO when it eventually $crews up, you are better off pulling that off, and tossing it in the trash can, stick a 4bbl manifold on it and a FAST EFI setup with an HEI vac advance distributor.
My pops had an older dodge pickup. Nice truck 81 model with the prospectors package, but it came with Chryslers awful "lean burn" computer controlled distributor and carburetor. Damn thing never ran right. Once it was out of warranty, I went to work. I put a regular carter 2 barrel carb on it, de wired the lean burn completely out, and put in a regular distributor with vacuum advance, he asked me if we were keeping the parts I pulled off. I said nope, and tossed all that B.S. right in the trash can. Anyhoo, glad you found this place and joined. Lots of great members, lots of great ideas, and just a super bunch of people here.
