Pitman arm and steering box visual inspection...
here's before I removed pitman arm... Kinda think the play is the shaft itself tbh..but idk... Wonder if that uneven seal or metal plate at bottom of shaft is a clue... Movement feels very slight but the video shows different ... the entire box...
Thanks. I think I may try to swap that new proforged pitman arm they sent me as a replacement when I did all of this work after that first one was not fitting..This was almost 2 years ago... I ended up putting a Moog on because I couldn't wait... It did go on pretty easy...No coating inside...
Since the idler is off I figured I'd give the centerlink a shakedown and video the different areas. I'm not sure what to make of it since I don't know what's reasonable movement with the idler gone. Obviously things wouldn't be moving like this.
The pitman arm ball joint also looks suspicious a...
I have the Cunningham shaft..and a year and a half old Borgeson steering box.....
Shake is only noticeable at 70mph... I haven't been doing that ... the steering slop is nothing I'm not experienced with considering my old stuff...but disturbing for sure....
Yeah, a really big brake chain tried...
I can't see anything wrong with them but will try to figure out the best way to test...
Again... They seem fine... I mean everything but the lower ca bushings is less than 2 years old. GM upper ca bushings....but they could have been tweaked.. or alignment shop left bolts loose if they even...
yes
The steering shaft does. This was discussed starting on page 4 post #35...I can't recall the exact steps we took.....
I'll look over this when I get a chance to digest...thanks....
Not sure...Had the tires rotated and balanced the other day and it did not help.
May take it to a shop that...
Yeah many shops....fill in whatever you want here...I could start with a couple negative stories but that would be for another thread...lol
but to be fair, are you saying my asking this is a good idea? Your response to me asking is confusing.
I agree...But I just started looking last Wednesday...
wonder if checking this place out wouldn't be a bad idea? Could maybe steer me in the right direction if nothing else?..heh

Weird...I was just logging in to note that, after looking over my records, the idler arm bracket is a Duralast Gold from Autozone and the idler arm is an AC Delco from Amazon.... I think I had planned on using my original bracket and had to run up the road to get the bracket once I realized it...
yeah..
About 7 months ago I went oot.. 400 mile round trip.... felt shaking at 70mph....heard some noises in town driving.....this trip I decided to look under while at the job and noticed the passenger outer tie rod flopping around. Bolt for adjuster sleeve was totally hand tight...Tightened it...
I don't know of anyone . I used a mobile mechanic that I took a chance on when I wanted to pull my transmission to do some stuff and he was really good. But we actually spent a little time on forums when things went sideways so I'm just getting that part out of the way first I guess. Hopefully I...
Obviously getting desperate....
Looking at the passenger front tire, I can see unevenness when I spin it --looking straight across the tread using a level area to focus on if that makes sense. There's one spot that goes blup blup on the tread...But I can't find it...Can totally see it though...
another test drive after replacing driver's side bearing...
Same deal...
Idk...
pretty convinced the shaking stays when I put it in neutral.... whatever that means....
Power steering pulley pretty wobbly...
Guess I'll get a transmission mount..
At least I don't have any popping when taking...
went on another test drive.... Apart from realizing how crappy the roads are, even new resurfaced ones, I'm not making any progress..... still shaking... want to say it feels different every time I goof with something... just the personality is different....but same issue if that makes sense...
