It does get some engine heat, but it's out of the sun, so it might be ok. Here's an idea, Though. If the existing part can be slid out of it's home, on the connector how about cutting the existing peg/post/pin off, drilling a hole and pushing a new regular pin through from the back?

I like that idea. Not sure if it's possible with how the clip mounts to the connector, but I'll definitely give it a look.

No response from Mouser, which is kind of a bummer. I figured they probably wouldn't be able to help but it would've been nice if they'd at least told me that...

Mouser finally emailed me back, they requested some more info and are going to proceed with attempting to get a quote from Aptiv. Still not holding my breath, but at least I did eventually get a response.
