One gentleman on the last thread suggested starting it with the injectors disabled, and if it starts then it means fuel is leaking into the cylinders, probably via injectors. I will definitely try this, do I just unplug the fuel pump and try starting it?
Fuel pump is original. Do you mean a leak at one of the o rings connecting to the fuel pump? And could it also be the o rings at the fuel filter since I haven’t changed those?
Injectors and regulator are new so I would expect them not to leak but I will still take a look.
When return hose is clamped, it does drop, but very slowly. Also, the psi doesn't instantly drop after I release the clamp on the return hose.
However, with the inlet or both hoses clamped, it drops faster. And when I let go of the clamp(s), the psi instantly drops about 12 psi.
During this...
I drive it every month or so, and the issue is always there. I guess it’s possible there could be an external leak at an o ring or something that isn’t big enough to leave fuel on the ground. I have actually noticed a fuel smell sometimes come to think of it.
I’ve tried priming the pump with the injectors pulled out and they didn’t seem to be leaking but I could try again at some point. How would I test the CTS?
Hey all, I started a thread almost a year ago about this issue that Ive been inactive on because of college, but now that im gonna have time to work on the ol girl again, I figured Id start a new thread with a quick recap of what we found out in the old thread. Anyways, its a 96 5.7 vortec. New...
I just ordered High Teck GM Victory Red and clear coat, they are both urethane. Just for fun i might test on a junk panel if rustoleum primer works with the basecoat, but if not, I'll just get primer from High Teck.
Ive found that it sands fine, and even if its not totally perfect it doesnt really bother me. But is it compatibe or not compatibe with certain kinds of basecoats?
I should mention that Ive already started priming parts of the truck with rustoleum filler/sandable primer rattle can, do I have to worry about certain types of basecoats not being compatible with this primer?
Ok thanks, I’ll see if the guy can measure the blocks for me. I should also mention that these blocks are 3” and I want 4”, so could I get than extra inch from add a leaf? And how hard/expensive would that be?
He’s selling the block kit for 20$ and it’s local which is why it’s a big consideration.
